Granite angel to be dedicated in Coaldale

In March, a specially carved 26-inch tall granite angel was placed in the Women’s Memorial Wishing Well in the Women’s Garden of the Veterans Memorial, Coaldale.

This memorial, carved in Korea, represents the completion of the Women’s Memorial. This unique memorial honors all women, not just those who served in the military. There are special honors for the 56 “Gold Star Mothers” who lost their precious sons during World War II.The angel will be dedicated at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in honor of Faye Ruth Lewis, an educator, citizen, philanthropist and patriot. The angel will also commemorate our Nation’s Gold Star Mothers. The ceremony will be held at the Women’s Memorial Garden, Third and Phillips streets, Coaldale.Sen.
