Brenda L. Drew, resident of Towamensing Township, has announced her candidacy for the position of Towamensing tax collector.

Born and raised in Kresgeville, she is the daughter of Richard "Dick" Strausberger and Blanche Haydt Strausberger, both of Kresgeville.She is a graduate of Pleasant Valley High School and Susquehanna University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1980.Drew worked as a teacher in the Lehighton Area School District until 1985 before moving to St. Lucie County, Florida, where she worked as a teacher until moving back home in 2012.Brenda worked for the Towamensing Supervisors as a clerk in 2013 and was appointed as Planning Commission Secretary and Township Secretary in 2014, where she currently serves.She enjoys volunteering for both the Polk Township and Towamensing fire companies, is a member of the Towamensing Historical Commission and the Kibler School Committee.Drew would also like the opportunity to continue serving the residents of Towamensing Township as their tax collector.She is seeking the Democratic nomination in the May 16 primary and is also asking her Republican friends to write in her name.
