Schuylkill driver has medical issue, crashes

A Schuylkill County man was injured on Saturday after he suffered an apparent medical incident and crashed his vehicle into a tree.

State police at Frackville said the crash occurred at 6:25 p.m. along Brockton Mountain Drive in Ryan Township.Troopers said Sebastian Neidlinger, of Barnesville, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier southbound, about a half-mile from Back Road, when he suffered the medical incident.The car swerved into the oncoming lane, almost striking another vehicle.Neidlinger was able to veer back right, with the car eventually leaving the road onto the west shoulder and impacting with a speed sign.After hitting the sign, the car continued south along the berm at the bottom of a raised embankment for about a quarter-mile.The car then crossed back over both lanes of the road and entered the east berm where it impacted with shrubbery and coming to final rest against a large tree.Neidlinger was taken by Ryan Township ambulance to the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. An 8-year-old passenger was not injured.
