Tribute bands coming to Tamaqua

Local rock music lovers will have the opportunity to enjoy the work of two of the genre's legendary bands, Pink Floyd and Rush, when the Tamaqua Community Art Center hosts a Tribute to Rock on Saturday. The concert is being presented in partnership with the Tamaqua Salvation Army's Angel Tree Program.

Two live bands, Afterimage and Outside the Wall, will be providing tributes to their favorite artists.Afterimage will be performing the music of the band Rush. Hailing from the Philadelphia area, the band is composed of Patrick Igoe on vocals and keyboard; Nick Demou, guitar/background vocals; Steve Legato, bass/bass pedals; and Greg Romano, drums and percussion.Rush is a Canadian rock band first formed in 1968 with 20 studio albums, giving Afterimage a potentially large play list. Samples of the tribute band's work can be found on their Facebook page Afterimage: A Tribute to Rush.Outside the Wall hails from Stroudsburg and was founded by Gary Wehrkamp, guitarist for the group Shadow Gallery. Wehrkamp provides vocals, electric guitar and keyboard. Other band members are: Sean Simpson on bass guitar, vocals and keyboard; Mark Marina, drums; and Doug Kaetz, electric and acoustic guitar, saxophone, keyboard and vocals. The group works hard to faithfully reproduce the timeless music of Pink Floyd, spanning several albums, including "The Wall," "Animals" and "The Dark Side of the Moon."More information on the band is available at
