Lehighton Trinity Pantry benefits from walk

The Trinity Pantry in Lehighton was the recipient of donations from the 2015 CROP Hunger Walk, sponsored by Life - Lehighton Interfaith Fellowship.

Shirley Radler, co-chairwoman of Life presented a check for $741.30 to Carolyn Long, coordinator of the Trinity Pantry. The remainder of the funds raised went to Church World Service for its relief and development programs.Churches participating to raise more than $2,930: All Saints Episcopal, Ben Salem United Church of Christ, Dinkey Memorial Lutheran, First Presbyterian, Peoples Evangelical Congregational, St. John's Union, St. Matthew Lutheran, Trinity Evangelical Lutheran and Zion United Church of Christ, all from Lehighton. Salem United Church of Christ in Weatherly and Faith United Church of Christ in Hazleton also participated.Donations of water and snacks were received from the Giant Food Stores in Lehighton, and the Martin Snack Company in Bath.The Trinity Pantry is a satellite of Shepherd House Inc., Carbon County's Food Distribution System.The 2016 CROP WALK is Oct. 9and will be held at the Lehigh Canal Park in Weissport.
