Six first-time offenders in the criminal justice system were placed in Carbon County's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program on Thursday by Judge Steven R. Serfass.

If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program their record his wiped clean. However, if they fail to complete it, or are revoked from it, then they would face trial on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.All were placed for a year on driving under the influence charges.Dalton Richard Hartman,21, of Lehighton, was arrested on Oct. 2, 2015, along Iron Street in Lehighton by state police at Lehighton. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance.He was assessed $600 for the cost of the program, ordered to render 50 hours of community service and his license was suspended for 60 days.William Herbert McArdle, 70, of Jim Thorpe, was arrested on Nov. 28, 2015, along Third Street by Lehighton police. A test showed 0.15 BAC.He was assessed $500, ordered to render 25 hours of community service and his license was suspended for 30 days.Anthony Michael Mooney,22, of Jim Thorpe, was arrested on Dec. 24, 2015, along Ninth Street by Lehighton police. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance.He was assessed $600, ordered to render 50 hours of community service and his license was suspended for 60 days.Mitchell Andrew Peters, 19, of Albrightsville, was arrested on Jan. 18 along Route 903 in Penn Forest Township by state police at Fern Ridge. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance.He was assessed $600, ordered to render 50 hours of community service and his license was suspended for 60 days.Richard Anthony Bocina,53, of Jim Thorpe, was arrested on Feb. 15 along Long Run Road in Franklin Township by state police at Lehighton. A test showed 0.21 BAC.He was assessed $550, ordered to render 50 hours of community service and his license was suspended for 60 days.Michael Joseph Snisky,28, of Nesquehoning, was arrested on March 24, 2015, along Route 248 by Franklin Township police. A test showed 0.17 BAC.He was assessed $550, ordered to render 50 hours of community service and his license was suspended for 60 days.Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program.
