Schuylkill County Judge James P. Goodman have placed two local people on intermediate punishment.

Melissa A. Oriel, 42, of Coaldale: Charged by state police at Frackville with driving under the influence, speeding and careless driving on Dec. 31, 2014.Goodman sentenced her pay a $300 fine, suspended her license for one year and ordered her to have an ignition lock on her car for one year, complete DUI school, attend outpatient treatment, perform 10 hours of community service, and to pay court costs and fees.He also ordered her to serve six months of intermediate punishment, including 25 days on house arrest with electronic monitoring followed by 35 days of strict supervision, followed by four months probation.All but the DUI charge was dropped.Keith S. McFarland, 37, of Tamaqua: Charged by Tamaqua police with driving under the influence, failing to stop at a red signal, and making an improper turn on Sept. 27, 2014.Goodman sentenced him pay a $1,500 fine, suspended his license for 18 months and ordered him to have an ignition lock on his car for one year, complete DUI school, attend outpatient treatment, perform 20 hours of community service, and to pay court costs and fees.He also ordered him to serve five years of intermediate punishment, including 150 days on house arrest with electronic monitoring, followed by 30 days on the SCRAM bracelet, followed by six months of strict supervision, followed by four years probation.All but one DUI charge was dropped.
