Three homes have been destroyed and two others heavily damaged in a fast moving fire early Tuesday morning in Orwigsburg.

The fire was first reported at 5:17 a.m. when fire fighters arrived on scene they found heavy flames rolling from 124 South Liberty St.

Within minutes flames consumed two adjoining homes in a large row home type construction.

Fire companies from throughout Schuylkill County responded to the scene. Firefighters appeared to have an adequate water source in battling the flames.

No injuries were reported in the incident. Market and South Liberty streets in Orwigsburg are closed to traffic.
