East Stroudsburg man charged with homicide in baby daughter's death

STROUDSBURG (AP) - An eastern Pennsylvania man has been charged with homicide in the death of his 5-month-old daughter.

Twenty-five-year-old Anthony Gudino of East Stroudsburg is also charged with child endangerment and reckless endangerment in the girl's death Friday.

Stroud Area Regional Police said the child wasn't breathing and had numerous traumatic injuries when Gudino brought her to Pocono Medical Center. Police said he told them she was in a swing with a bottle when he heard a "gurgling" sound, and he tried unsuccessfully to revive her.

Police said he told them that he had smoked marijuana the day before, but hospital staffers said he appeared to be intoxicated when he arrived.

Court documents indicate that Gudino will be represented by the county public defender's office, which rang unanswered Monday evening.
