Woman pleads guilty to hiding man fleeing from police

A Carbon County woman pleaded guilty this week in the county court to one count of hindering apprehension-harboring or concealing.

Michele A. Goodhile, 49, of Lehighton, entered the plea before Judge Steven R. Serfass before the start of her scheduled bench trial on the charge.Lehighton police charged her following an incident on May 12, 2015. Mahoning Township police were involved in a chase involving Robert Allen Miller. The chase entered Lehighton, where borough police had been alerted and ready to assist. At some point Miller left his vehicle and ran into the residence of Goodhile, in the 1200 block of Mahoning Street. When police went to her residence and asked if she saw Miller or if he had entered her home, she at first denied any knowledge of Miller. Police later reported Goodhile knew Miller and entered the residence and knew he was wanted by police.Serfass accepted the plea and placed her on probation for a year and ordered her to pay court costs of about $1,000, pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation and render 100 hours of community service.
