Carbon woman pleads guilty in 4 theft cases

A Carbon County woman entered guilty pleas on Tuesday in the county court in four pending criminal cases.

Brandee Holly Boroznoff, 23, of Lehighton, pleaded to two counts each of theft and retail theft in the four cases.She was charged by Mahoning Township police for three of the cases involving incidents at the Walmart store. The fourth case was filed by Lehighton police for an incident involvingthe taking of video equipment.Boroznoff told Judge Joseph J. Matika that she "got in with the wrong crowd." At the time of the arrests Boroznoff was on probation in Lehigh County.Boroznoff also admitted to a drug abuse problem. She said she got involved in using controlled substances because of medication she was taking for other health issues.Matika sentenced her to a total of two years probation on all counts, running concurrent to each other but consecutive to a term she is serving in Lehigh County.She was also ordered to render 50 hours of community service, make total restitution of $485.92, get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendations for treatment, zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use, pay court costs of about $1,000, pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation, and stay out of the Walmart store in Mahoning Township.
