A Carbon County teen pleaded guilty to his part in the robbery of a juvenile; and in another case admitted to drug possession.

Michael Chase Slater-Trine, 19, of Jim Thorpe, and formerly of Lehighton, pleaded to one count each of theft and simple assault in the robbery case and one count of possession of marijuana in the drug case. Judge Joseph J. Matika accepted the pleas.Slater-Trine admitted he and another juvenile assaulted a juvenile in the area of 527 E. Patterson St., Lansford, on June 17, 2015. Borough police said Slater-Trine demanded money from the juvenile. When the victim refused, Slater-Trine punched him in the face several times, knocking him to the ground. He then took $150 in cash from the victim. In exchange for the plea the district attorney's office dropped a robbery charge.He was arrested on the drug count on Nov. 18, 2014, by Lehighton police following a traffic stop at Bridge and Union streets. He was a passenger in the vehicle where marijuana was found. He admitted it belonged to him.Slater-Trine is an inmate in the county prison on the robbery charges.On the theft charge Slater-Trine was sentenced to time served (92 days) to one year in jail with the same term imposed on the assault count, running concurrently. On the drug count he was fined $200 and costs. Slater-Trine was also ordered to render 50 hours of community service, get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment, make total restitution in the theft case of $2,506.83, which includes the money taken and medical expenses for the victim, have no contact with the victim, pay court costs of about $1,000 and pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole.On Monday Slater-Trine was in court again, this time before President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II to plead to one count each of theft and unsworn falsification to law enforcement. He admitted his part in an incident on April 4, 2015, in which an Xbox and television were stolen from a North First Street residence. Charges were filed by Mahoning Township police.Slater-Trine and a co-defendant, a juvenile, stayed at thevictim's residence. He went to work, and afterward, police said the Xbox and TV were stolen.The defendant told Nanovic, "I'm very remorseful for what I've done."Nanovic sentenced him to serve six to 18 months in prison followed by two years of probation on the theft charge with the term running concurrent with the term imposed last week by Matika. He was also ordered to get his General Education Diploma and make restitution of $810. On the false reports count he was sentenced to serve one to 12 months, concurrent with the other sentences.
