The Jim Thorpe American Legion Post 304 and the Germantown Grove Association will be hosting the 63rd annual Fishing Derby for Carbon County's special needs students next month.

The event will take place May 12 and 13, beginning at 9 a.m., at the Germantown Grove in Jim Thorpe.Volunteers are needed for the two-day event.Anyone wishing to volunteer their fishing talents and to assist the students can contact Henry Desrosiers at 570-325-3986 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.Donations are also being accepted to help offset the costs of the fish and gifts for the students.
