Defendants entered guilty pleas in Carbon County court on Tuesday before Judge Joseph J. Matika:

Christopher John Wolfe, 42, of Andreas, pleaded to two counts of retail theft, both occurring at the Walmart store in Mahoning Township. He was charged for incidents on Jan. 21 and Feb. 2.Wolfe told Matika that after the second arrest he took a theft prevention course to help him with his problem.On the two counts Matika placed him on probation for a year, with the terms running concurrently, and ordered he render 50 hours of community service and stay out of the Walmart store in the township.Christina Lynn Kieffer,28, of Coaldale, pleaded to one count of retail theft.She was arrested on Feb. 16, 2015, by Lansford police for an incident at Boyer's Market on West Bertsch Street.Matika placed her on probation for a year and ordered her to render 50 hours of community service, make restitution of $6.97 and stay out of Boyer's in Lansford.Kieffer is currently in custody facing pending charges in Luzerne and Schuylkill counties.Stacy M. Schroeder,21, of White Haven, pleaded to one count of false identification to law enforcement.She was arrested on Sept. 9, 2015, following a traffic stop along Hudsondale Street by Weatherly police. At the stop she gave her sister's name to officers because, she said, she knew there was a warrant for her arrest out of Luzerne County.Matika placed her on probation for a year, concurrent with a sentence in Luzerne County, and ordered her to render 50 hours of community service.Jonathan Michael Whateley, 25, of Coaldale, formerly of Lansford, pleaded to one count of criminal conspiracy-false reports.He was arrested on Sept. 22, 2015, by Lansford police for an incident along Ridge Street. Officers responded to the area for a report of a home invasion incident. It was later learned that the incident did not occur and Whateley gave false information to police.Matika placed him on probation for a year.Thomas Edwards,64, of Lansford, pleaded to one count of illegal use of 911.Borough police charged him after receiving information from the county communications center that Edwards made multiple calls to 911 for nonemergencies.Matika placed him on probation for six months.Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation/parole.
