Carbon County Court - ARD

Nineteen defendants were placed in Carbon County's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program last Friday by Judge Joseph J. Matika.

If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program their record is wiped clean. However, if they fail to complete it, or are revoked from it, then they would face trial on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted.Mikisha Teresa Acevedo, 27, of Lansford, was placed on a charge of robbery-taking property by force. She was arrested by Lansford police on Sept. 4, 2015, in the area of 505 E. Bertsch St. She was charged with taking the cellphone of Shawniece Hazel.She was assessed $450 for the cost of the program and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and have no contact with the victim.Shawniece Kristin Hazle,27, of Upper Darby, and formerly of Lansford, was placed on a charge of simple assault. This is a companion case of Acevedo.She was assessed $450 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service, make restitution of $100 and have no contact with Acevedo.Anne Albert,51, of Nesquehoning, was placed for two years on a charge of simple assault. She was arrested on Jan. 2 by Nesquehoning police for an incident in the area of 136 W. Railroad St.She was assessed $450 and ordered to render 100 hours of community service, get a mental health evaluation and follow all recommendations for treatment and have no contact with the victim.Brooke Lauren Berger, 24, of Jim Thorpe, was placed on a charge of driving under the influence. She was arrested on Oct. 10, 2015, along Route 209 by Nesquehoning police. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance.She was assessed $600, ordered to render 50 hours of community service and her license was suspended for 60 days.Mary Colleen Bowe,20, of Levittown, Bucks County, was placed on a DUI charge. She was arrested on April 9, 2015, along Bertsch Street by Lansford police. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance.She was assessed $650, ordered to render 50 hours of community service and her license was suspended for 90 days.Bradley Pierce Burbage, 22, of Bethlehem, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on Oct. 7, 2015, along Pine Hollow Drive by Mahoning Township police. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance.He was assessed $650, ordered to render 50 hours of community service and his license was suspended for 60 days.Diane Dipietro,54, of Jim Thorpe, was placed on a charge of persistent disorderly conduct. She was arrested on Oct. 28, 2015, by Lansford police for an incident in the area of 22 Jones St.She was assessed $450, ordered to render 50 hours of community service and have no contact with the victim.Theodore Robert Frace, 29, of Coaldale, was placed on a charge of theft of property. He was arrested on Dec. 20, 2015, by Lansford police for an incident at Boyer's Market, West Bertsch Street.He was assessed $450 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and make restitution of $77.50.Devin Scott Hinkle,19, of Summit Hill, was placed for six months on a charge of fleeing or attempting to elude police. He was arrested on Nov. 27, 2015, along Blakeslee Boulevard Drive by Mahoning Township police.He was assessed $450 and ordered to render 25 hours of community service.Andrea Ann Jimenez, 47, of Lansford, was placed for 18 months on a charge of forgery and related counts. She was arrested by Lansford police on Oct. 28, 2015.She was assessed $450 and ordered to make restitution of $7,955.15, render 75 hours of community service and have no contact with the victim.Eugene Anthony Kochan, 20, of Lansford, was placed on a simple assault charge. He was arrested on Jan. 15 by Lansford police for an incident in the area of 409 Lansford Court.He was assessed $450 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and attend and complete anger management counseling.Nancy E. Mara,57, of Philadelphia, was placed on a DUI charge. She was arrested on May 30, 2015, along Route 1003 by Kidder Township police. A test showed 0.08 BAC.She was assessed $450 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service.Kyle Reed Morales, 20, of Nesquehoning, was placed on a charge of retail theft. He was arrested on Jan. 6 by Nesquehoning police for an incident at Redner's Warehouse Market.He was assessed $450 and ordered to make restitution of $16.59, render 50 hours of community service and stay out of Redner's.William A. Nonweiler,36, of Lehighton, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on April 4, 2015, along Blakeslee Boulevard by Mahoning Township police. A test showed 0.18 BAC.He was assessed $550, ordered to render 50 hours of community service and his license was suspended for 60 days.Robert Harold O'Hazzo Jr.,21, of McAdoo, was placed on a charge of possession of a controlled substance-marijuana. He was arrested on Nov. 6, 2015, in the area of 90 Stock St., by Nesquehoning police.He was assessed $450 and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment and render 50 hours of community service.Mary Esther Reichard,33, of Jim Thorpe, was placed on a charge of DUI. She was arrested on Aug. 15, 2015, along Route 93 in Beaver Meadows by state police at Hazleton. A test showed 0.27 BAC.She was assessed $550, ordered to render 50 hours of community service and her license was suspended for 60 days.Aaron Scott Snyder,36, of Summit Hill, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on Oct. 17, 2015, along Blakeslee Boulevard by Mahoning Township police. A test showed 0.11 BAC.He was assessed $500, ordered to render 50 hours of community service and his license was suspended for 30 days.John E. Stevens Jr.,34, of Lansford, was placed on a theft by deception charge. He was arrested on Sept. 22, 2015, by Lansford police for an incident involvingcashing a check for repairs and the repairs were not done.He was assessed $450 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service, make restitution of $800 and have no contact with the victim.Adrian M. Thompson,22, of Albrightsville, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on April 11, 2015, along Route 903 by Kidder Township police. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance.Thompson was assessed $600, ordered to render 50 hours of community service and his license was suspended for 60 days.Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program.
