Mass celebrated for honor societies

A special Mass was celebrated recently at Marian Catholic High School in Hometown, honoring 15 students named to the French and Spanish National Honor Societies. The Rev. Joseph T. Whalen officiated, using English, Spanish and French during different parts of the Mass. Sister Bernard Agnes, Marian Principal, presented the students with certificates of achievement.

Also taking part in the ceremonies were the officers of both societies: French - Camaryn Wheeler, president; and Natalia Konitzer, vice president; Spanish - Henry Hinchey, president; Emma Macaluso, vice president; Connor Dodson, secretary; and Maureen Kloap, treasurer.New members of the French Honor Society are: Isabella Blasko, Emily Meier, Alyssa Neville and Claudia Stroia, sophomores; and Abigail Haas, junior.New members inducted into the Spanish Honor Society are: Christina Capparell, Ryan Chapman, Aidan Hinchey, Julia Hoben, Henry Kreisl, Joseph Maguschak, Aaron Srinivasan, Brady Whildin, all sophomores; and Sophia Damian, Colleen Gallagher, juniors.The moderators of the societies are: Maureen Heffelfinger for the French Honor Society and Deborah Coles for the Spanish Honor Society.
