Lenten exchange devotion

This week's Lenten exchange devotion will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church, Eastside on Wednesday. A light lunch will be served at 6 p.m. before the devotion conversations. This week's will be led by Pastor Tony Pagotto. The conversations are on the book of Philippians, chapters 1 to 4. Those planning on attending are reminded to bring their Bibles.Community dinnerFrom 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, a free community dinner will be served at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Race Street. On the menu this month will be spaghetti and meatballs. If you have any questions, call the church at 570-325-2241.Baskets of PromiseSt. John's Lutheran Church, South Avenue, will be participating in the Baskets of Promise campaign during the season of Lent. They will be collecting different hygiene items through Palm Sunday. The Junior and Senior Youth Groups will then assemble the personal care kits to be sent to Lutheran World Relief for distribution to needy people throughout the work.
