Services announced for Albrightsville man killed in crash

Services have been announced for Michael Ian Carpenter, 25, of Albrightsville who was killed in a crash in Summit Hill Sunday night.

The son of Joan Carpenter-Bensinger and stepson of Richard R Bensinger of Albrightsville, he wasa 2010 graduate of Jim Thorpe High School.

He was employed by Mount Pocono Fence Company, he enjoyed working outside, and in the winter months, Michael worked for JFBB Ski Areas.

Carpenter loved the outdoors, swimming, motorbiking, four wheeling,spending time with friends and pick up football games. He is described by many as the funniest best friend anyone could want and had many nicknames: Michael Dude/Michael Michael Motorcycle/Michael/Mikey/Carp/Carpy/Micko/Sunshine.

Services will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 20th at Melber Funeral Home, 524 Center St., Jim Thorpe followed by Mass of the Christian Burial, 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 526 North St., Jim Thorpe with the Rev. Francis J. Baransky officiating.

Viewings will be 7 to 9 p.m.. Friday and 9 to-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
