Carbon woman admits to drug sale

A Carbon County woman on Friday in the county court admitted to selling drugs. She entered guilty pleas before Judge Joseph J. Matika to drug-related charges.

Ranid Alexandria Solt, 27, of Lehighton, pleaded guilty to one count of criminal use of a communication facility.She was arrested by Mahoning Township police and members of the county drug task force after she sold two bags of crack cocaine to a confidential informant. The CI set up the sale in a cellphone call to Solt. Solt is currently serving a prison term for another violation which began in November 2015.Solt told Matika, "I accept responsibility. I just want to get myself straightened out."Matika accepted the pleas and sentenced her to time served (80 days) to one day less 24 months in prison and paroled her on the charge. She was also ordered to render 75 hours of community service, get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendations for treatment, zero tolerance imposed for drug and alcohol use, and supply a DNA sample.
