The Carbon County Recreational Authority honored attorney George Shutack of Lehighton for his many years as chairman.

The former Nesquehoning resident was presented a plaque and resolution commending him for his dual role, at times, as chairman and solicitor.Shutack was honored at an informal dinner meeting of the authority at the Mauch Chunk Lake Park office. He obtained a gift of land from the Blue Ridge Real Estate Co., Blakeslee, and offered his legal services to the board free of charge.
