McCann students pass certification exams

Two local graduates of McCann School of Business & Technology have passed their programmatic National Healthcareer Association accreditation exams. These exams validate the skill sets learned in each individual program and are often needed or preferred by employers.• Kristy Reis of New Ringgold, a graduate of the phlebotomist program, passed the Certified Phlebotomy Technician Exam.• Marisa Matukewicz of New Ringgold, a graduate of the medical billing and coding program, passed the Certified Medical Billing and Coding Exam.McCann covers the cost of the exam, encouraging all students to take their programmatic certification exams. These exams give students a competitive edge in the workforce since many employers either require or prefer candidates to be certified. The 2015 exam results met the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs requirements, allowing McCann to maintain its programmatic accreditation and uphold its existing certified programs.
