Carbon County president Judge Roger N. Nanovic on Dec. 21 accepted guilty pleas from seven people charged with driving under the influence of alcohol:

Judy A. Evans, 70, of Palmerton: She was charged by state police at Lehighton on Oct. 23 and again on Oct. 15.Nanovic deferred sentencing.Robert M. Pazienza, 25, of Kunkletown: He was charged by Palmerton police on Sept. 10. He refused a blood alcohol test.Nanovic deferred sentencing.Michael J. Connors Jr., 42, of Albrightsville: He was charged on Aug. 15 by state police at Fern Ridge on Route 534 in Albrightsville.Nanovic sentenced him to six months of probation, fined him $300, and ordered him to complete Alcohol Highway Safety school. He was also fined $25 for disregarding traffic lanes.Matthew Raybon Gilfilen, 20, of Pen Argyl: He was charged on June 7 by park rangers at Beltzville State Park, Franklin Township. His BAC was 0.11. He pleaded to DUI and possession of drug paraphernalia.Nanovic deferred sentencing.John Russell Ciavaglia, 57, of Henryville: He was charged by state police at Lehighton on July 31 on Third Street, Lehighton.Nanovic deferred sentencing.Stanley Ervin Haydt, 44, of Lehighton: He was charged by state police at Lehighton for riding his bicycle while under the influence on Sept. 18 on Bridge Street, Lehighton.Nanovic deferred sentencing.Philip Myers, 44, of Andreas: He was charged by state police at Lehighton on June 24 on Mahoning Drive, Mahoning Township. Myers refused a test to determine his blood alcohol content. He pleaded guilty to DUI.Nanovic deferred sentencing.
