On July 25 the Diehl family from Kunkletown gathered family members, neighbors and friends at the Adventure Center at Blue Mountain Ski Area for a friendly little game of Monopoly which will, hopefully land them in the Guinness Book of World Records.

According to organizer Donna Diehl, her son Hunter, 21, has been fascinated with the Guinness Book of World Records since he was 6. A year ago they decided to set out to see if they could break a record and on July 25 they did.The old record was 316 people playing Monopoly for 30 minutes. The Diehls gathered 448 people to play the game.In November Hunter Diehl was contacted by Guinness World Records for clarification and additional information. Diehl provided the information to the company along with his name as the person who will hold the record when it is published. The family is still awaiting final verification of the results.
