Carbon County President Judge Roger Nanovic on Monday accepted guilty pleas from seven people charged with driving under the influence of controlled substances.

Raquel Brown, 45, of Bensalem, Bucks County: She was charged by state police at Lehighton Nov. 7, 2012; by Mahoning Township police on June 19, 2013; and by Lehighton borough police on July 3, 2013.Nanovic deferred sentencing.Evrin D. Kalkan, 31, of Lehighton: He was charged by state police at Lehighton on Feb. 14 on Bridge Street, Lehighton.Nanovic sentenced him to serve 72 hours to six months in jail, with four days' credit; obtain outpatient treatment, fined him $2,500, suspended his license for one year, and ordered him to complete Alcohol Highway safety school, and pay court costs and fees.Louise Kelly, 56, of Lehighton: She was charged by state police at Lehighton on April 4 on Indian Hill Road, Franklin Township.Nanovic sentenced her to six months of probation and fined her $300. She was also ordered to obtain outpatient treatment, complete Alcohol Highway Safety School, submit to random substance screening with zero tolerance for drugs or alcohol.Jason Scott Dunbar, 32, of Palmerton: He was charged by state police at Lehighton on Oct. 29, 2014, on Blue Mountain Drive in Lower Towamensing Township.Nanovic sentenced him to one year of probation and fined him $250 plus costs.Nancy Bell Kuhn, 55, of Jim Thorpe: She was charged by state police at Lehighton on Oct. 4 at the intersection of Behrens and Church roads, Penn Forest Township.Nanovic deferred sentencing.Joshua W. Leslie, 23, of Lehighton: He was charged by state police at Lehighton on July 19, 2013, on Pohopoco Drive, Franklin Township. Leslie had previously been accepted into the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program, but that was revoked.Nanovic deferred sentencing.James Michael Miller III, 22, of Saylorsburg: He was charged by state police at Lehighton on April 21 on Little Gap Road, Lower Towamensing Township.Nanovic deferred sentencing.
