Walker Township's board of supervisors on Monday unanimously adopted next year's budget with no increase.

Next year's spending plan will leave the tax rate unchanged at 5.54 mills.Of that, 4.79 mills is for general, while the other .75 mills is for fire protection.Supervisors approved this year's budget with a 0.5 mill increase.Also on Monday, supervisors announced that a meeting will be held next month to discuss the Act 537 sewage facilities plan.The meeting, at the request of West Penn Township, will be held at 7 p.m. Jan. 18 at the West Penn Township Municipal Building.Walker and West Penn townships have formed an inter-municipal agreement to develop the plan.Supervisors announced that the board's reorganization meeting will be held at 10 a.m. Jan. 4.
