Tamaqua tax collector Pam McCullion has announced extended hours for those taxpayers who like to wait until the last possible minute.Her office, located at 6 S. Lehigh St. in Tamaqua, will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 28 and 29, as well as from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Dec. 31, which is the last day to pay 2015 taxes.Anyone planning to mail their taxes is reminded the payment must be postmarked no later than Dec. 31.For more information, call 570-668-6220.Bucket booksThe Bucket List Book Club will start the new year off with a twist. The January meeting will have no reading required.Instead, the group will view the HBO movie "Grey Gardens." The film stars Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange and is based on a documentary that chronicled the lives of Edith Bouvier Beal, aunt of first lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, and Big Edie's daughter.The two women were found to be living in squalor and isolation in the family's mansion, "Grey Gardens," in East Hampton, New York, in the early 1970s. The film highlights four decades of the women's lives and the circumstances that brought about their living conditions.The Jan. 6 meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Tamaqua Community Art Center, 125 Pine St., Tamaqua. Ed Bean will officiate at the 10:25 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Calvary United Methodist Church in the Lewistown Valley.The service on Jan. 3 will include a concert by Jeremy Wooten, grandson of Robert and Shirley Kramer.
