The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met Dec. 17 with 45 members in attendance. President Melody Weicker conducted the business session.Norma Lee Burke provided the invocation "Christmas Wonder."Members are reminded to bring brown bag lunches during the winter months. Meetings will be suspended during the holidays.The next meeting will be held at 1 p.m. Jan. 7, at the Tamaqua YMCA, 1201 E. Broad St.The group is open to anyone 55 or older and the YMCA is handicap accessible.BloodmobileAn American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be in Tamaqua on Tuesday, providing the perfect opportunity to extend the season of holiday giving.Sponsored by the Tamaqua YMCA, the Bloodmobile will be held at the Y, 1201 E. Broad St.Blood donors will be accepted between the hours of 1 and 6 p.m.Anyone 17 or older, in good general health, who weighs at least 110 pounds is eligible to donate blood.Every potential donor will receive a free Red Cross long-sleeve T-shirt.To make an appointment, call 800-733-2767. Walk-ins are also welcome.Bethany ECThe Rev. Kevin Roberts will officiate at the 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. worship services this Sunday in Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church.
