Class Christmas parties

Members of the Jim Thorpe Area High School Class of 1964 will hold their Christmas luncheon on Wednesday at noon at the Mahoning Valley Country Club. Those attending are reminded to bring along cookies for sharing and a wrapped gift. The group will enjoy caroling, as several classmates will provide the instrumental music.The Class of 1965 Jim Thorpe Area High School will enjoy its party on Thursday at Antonio's Broadway, beginning at noon. Members will have a $15 gift exchange.Sunday school programThe children of the Sunday school of St. John's Lutheran Church, South Avenue, will present their "Olde Tyme Christmas Celebration" at 6:30 p.m. Sunday. The children will present recitations, songs and a skit entitled "Twelve Symbols of Christmas."The Sunday school recently purchased a wooden, floor-standing Advent wreath which will be dedicated during the program. The wreath is in memory of Joyce Reed, who served as a Sunday school teacher for 59 years.
