Schuylkill County - Probation

Schuylkill County Judge James Goodman has placed on probation five people charged by local police. All were ordered to pay court costs and fees in addition to their punishments.

Thomas Hosler, 53, of Tamaqua: Charged by Tamaqua police with simple assault and harassment on May 31. He will serve 12 months probation, perform 20 hours of community service, and pay the victim $1,601 in restitution on the assault charge. The harassment charge was dropped in plea negotiations.Hollie L. Carsia, 28, of Hazleton: Charged by Rush Township police with retail theft, receiving stolen property, and driving without a license on April 7. Goodman placed her on probation for 23 months and ordered her to pay $1,357 in restitution to Walmart. The charges of receiving stolen property, and driving without a license were dropped.In a second case, Carsia was charged by Rush Township police with retail theft, receiving stolen property, and driving without a license on April 9. She will serve 23 months probation, to be served concurrently with the first case, and pay Walmart $987 in restitution. The charges of receiving stolen property and driving without a license were dropped in plea negotiations.In a third case, this one from an incident on April 15, Carsia was charged again by Rush Township police with retail theft, receiving stolen property, driving without a license and criminal conspiracy. All but the retail theft charge were dropped. Goodman sentenced her to 23 months on probation, to be served concurrently with the first case, and to pay Walmart $1,272 in restitution.Guy E. Coxe, 25, of Wilkes-Barre: Charged by Rush Township police with criminal conspiracy, retail theft and receiving stolen property on Nov. 6, 2014. Goodman placed him on probation for 12 months and ordered him to pay Walmart $448 in restitution. All but the conspiracy charge were dropped.Anthony J. Napolitano, 30, of Tamaqua: Charged by Rush Township police with possession of drug paraphernalia on March 1. Goodman placed him on probation for 12 months.In a second case, Napolitano was charged by Rush Township police with resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia, disorderly conduct and driving with a revoked or suspended license. Goodman placed him on probation for 12 months.George A. Kraynak Jr., 23, of Pottsville: Charged by Rush Township police with retail theft, criminal conspiracy to commit retail theft, and receiving stolen property on April 15. Goodman placed him on probation for 12 months and ordered him to pay $1,272 in restitution to Walmart.Charges of criminal conspiracy and receiving stolen property were dropped.
