The Tamaqua Elementary Parent Teacher Organization will meet Dec. 8. The meeting will be held in the Tamaqua Elementary School Library, starting at 6:30 p.m.Meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month during the 2015-16 school year.Meet the RaidersThe Tamaqua Area School District's annual Winter Meet the Raiders Night will be held Wednesday in the district's athletic center. The evening will begin at 7 p.m.Members of the girls and boys basketball, wrestling and swim teams will be introduced, as well as the cheerleaders.The Raider Pep Band will also be in attendance.The event is free. In case of inclement weather, the event will be rescheduled to Thursday.Community dinnerTrinity United Church of Christ will host a free, community spaghetti dinner and worship on Dec. 12. Phyllis Wolford will officiate at this Sunday's 9:15 a.m. worship service in St. John's Lutheran Church.Also on Sunday, Sunday school will meet at 10:30 a.m. and the bell choir will rehearse at noon.Choir rehearsals are held on Thursdays: Angel Choir at 6 p.m.; Shepherd Choir at 6:30 p.m.; and Chancel Choir at 7:30 p.m.Church decorating for Christmas will be done following the worship service on Dec. 6.St. John UCCThe Rev. Kevin Duffy-Guy will officiate at the 9:30 a.m. worship service this Sunday in St. John United Church of Christ. The service will include Holy Communion. Sunday school classes will begin at the end of the junior sermon.
