A West Penn Township man will spend a minimum of five to 10 years in state prison for homicide by motor vehicle and other charges.Charles Frederick Oliver II, 53, of Andreas, was sentenced by Centre County President Judge Thomas King Kistler on Tuesday for his role in the crash on July 2, 2014, which resulted in the death of Karen Dale Moore, according to the Centre Daily Times.Police said Oliver and Moore were riding along state Route 504 in Union Township when Oliver lost control of his motorcycle. When authorities arrived on the scene they found both of the passengers ejected.Oliver was responsive and, according to police, repeatedly asked medical personnel about Moore’s condition. Moore was unresponsive and pronounced dead on the scene.Oliver sustained injuries and underwent surgery at an Altoona medical facility.Other charges included DUI, accident involving death while not properly licensed and careless driving.
