Route 248 reopened, crash victim identified

Authorities have identified the victim of Friday's fatal crash on Route 248 as a 91-year-old Northampton County man.

Harold Miller, of Lehigh Township, died as a result of traumatic injuries suffered in the crash, according to a statement form the Northampton County Coroner's Office.

Miller was behind the wheel of a vehicle involved in a crash with a dump truck around 8:45 a.m. Friday in Moore Township.

The violent collision occurred at the intersection of Route 248 and Valley View Road.

After the crash, Miller was transported to St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem, where he was pronounced dead around 10 a.m.

Authorities closed Route 248 for several hours to conduct accident reconstruction. It was re-opened Friday afternoon.

The incident is still under investigation by Moore Township Police.
