The Panther Valley School Board voted 8-0 against the recommendation of head football Coach Joe Leonzi that the Panthers drop from Class B to Class C in football, a move Leonzi suggested would bring Panther Valley more in line with schools that have comparable enrollments.Board member Manny Roman argued the step down would be “a disgrace,” saying, “Then we should drop football altogether and go to intramural football.”Principal Phil Rader and Athletic Director Charlie Williams said they too are not in favor of playing Class C football.
