Authorities have identified the Carbon County Correctional Facility inmate found dead in what officials believe was a suicide.
Rodney Hudock, 65, of Parryville, was pronounced dead around 2 a.m. Thursday, according to Carbon County Coroner Bruce Nalesnik.He was awaiting preliminary hearings in two cases involving sexual contact with minors.Nalesnik would not confirm that Hudock's death was a suicide, but county officials familiar with the investigation says it appears that he took his own life.Warden Timothy Fritz said that Hudock was alone in a cell when he died.County commissioner Wayne Nothstein said that the death appears to be a suicide.Hudock was awaiting preliminary hearings in two separate cases involving inappropriate contact with minors.The combined bail for the two cases was $175,000.In one case, Hudock faced a felony charge of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, which carries a penalty of up to 40 years in prison.
