The Tamaqua Community Art Center hosted an artist meet and greet Thursday, which featured the work of Jeremy Petrachonis.

Petrachonis of Hazleton said he began his artwork in late 2010."I'm always looking for new avenues to exhibit at," Petrachonis said. "I haven't exhibited before in Tamaqua, and it seemed like an awesome thing to do."As visitors combed over his various art work, Petrachonis said he was pleased with the turnout."I think it's been amazing; everything I had hoped for and more," he said. "I just love hearing what people say about my work, because everyone sees something different."Petrachonis specializes in abstract art, and creates drawings with pastels and charcoals, paintings with oil paint, and sculptures with gesso and ink."If you have a vision and are determined and passionate to make it happen, anything can happen," he said. "Don't be afraid to be who you are, and if they see your vision, you know you're doing it right."For more information on the Tamaqua Community Art Center, visit
