Police investigate hit-and-run

Police are searching for a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash in Tunkhannock Township, Monroe County, earlier this week.

The incident occurred around 2:45 p.m. Monday afternoon. Police said the vehicle cut off a garbage truck and was subsequently struck while trying to leave Sunny's gas station on Route 115.Police described the vehicle as a silver or tan sedan, possibly a Ford. It sustained passenger side damage in the crash, including broken windows. The driver has been described as a white male wearing a blue T-shirt.Police said the garbage truck driver was attempting to pull out onto Route 115 from the parking lot of the gas station. He related that the other driver sped out of the gas pump area, cut him off, and hit the front of his truck.Police reviewed surveillance footage which confirmed the garbage truck driver's account.The man was last seen driving south on Route 115 entering Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call Pocono Mountain Regional Police at 570-895-2400.
