Weatherly woman charged with poisoning neighbor's cat

A Carbon County woman allegedly tried to poison a neighbor's cats with dish detergent, according to police.

Gloria Rossi, 53, of Weatherly, was charged late last month.

According to Weatherly Police, Rossi's neighbor observed her reaching over a shared fence, and spraying some kind of chemical onto her cat food. The incident occurred on Sept. 17 at approximately 7 p.m.

Police questioned Rossi after the incident. She admitted that she had sprayed Dawn dish detergent onto the cat food.

Police said that the dish detergent is poisonous to cats.

They charged Rossi with poisoning of a domestic animal, a misdemeanor. If convicted, she could face a $500 fine.
