One injured in Monroe crash

One person was injured and flown to a trauma center, following a one-vehicle crash that occurred around 4 p.m. Tuesday along Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.

State police at Fern Ridge said Anatoli Schurawlow, of Brodheadsville, was northbound and approaching a left curve when he fell asleep at the wheel. The passenger side tires of the vehicle went onto the berm and into a ditch. The vehicle then traveled into a grass ditch, striking a tree with its front passenger side engine compartment. The vehicle then deflected off the tree and rotated clockwise and slid to a final rest in the driveway at 1336 Route 209.A passenger, Linda Schurawlow, same address, was flown from the scene to St. Luke's Hospital-Bethlehem. The driver was not injured. The investigation into the crash is continuing, troopers said.
