Meet the artist
The Tamaqua Community Art Center will host an artist meet and greet, featuring Jeremy Petrachonis, this Thursday.Petrachonis specializes in abstract art, establishing a unique style since he began his art career in 2010. His work is centered on designs, patterns and geometrics.Hours for the meet and greet are 6:30-8:30 p.m. The art center is located at 125 Pine St.Andreas HalloweenThe annual Andreas Halloween Parade has been scheduled for Oct. 21, with a rain date of Oct. 22.The line of march will begin forming at 6:15 p.m. at the Andreas Sporting Club. President Melody Weicker conducted the business session and Jacque Patrick offered the invocation “Autumn.”Phil Price was welcomed back after his absence.The next meeting will be held at 1 p.m. Oct. 1, at the Tamaqua YMCA, 1201 E. Broad St.The group is open to anyone 55 or older, and the YMCA is handicap accessible.Bethany ECThe Rev. Kevin Roberts will officiate at the 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. worship services this Sunday in Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church. Both services will include Holy Communion. Sunday school classes are held at 9:15 a.m.Also on Sunday, commission meetings will be at 11:45 a.m.; a Sunday stroll will be held at 2 p.m. at the Lehigh Canal at Weissport; Psalm group meets at 2 p.m. at Laurel Commons; teen group meets at 6:30 p.m.Activities for next week will include: Tuesday, prayer time at 8:30 a.m., women’s growth group meets at 12:30 p.m., money and work group meets at 7 p.m.; Wednesday, sew much more group meets at 1 p.m., breaking the code group meets at 1 p.m. at the Majestic House, GriefShare meets at 7 p.m., Tamaqua Youth Ministry staff meets at 8 p.m.; Thursday, men’s growth group meets at 7 p.m.Animal blessingA Blessing of the Animals church service will be held at 10:45 a.m. Oct. 4, at Calvary Episcopal Church, 300 W. Broad St., Tamaqua.
