A 26-year-old-Palmerton man died in a motorcycle crash Saturday evening on Route 309 in West Penn Township.

The victim, Nathan Wentz, was pronounced dead at the scene by Schuylkill County Deputy Coroner Debra Detweiler on Saturday, according to county coroner Dr. David Moylan.He said Wentz was driving his motorcycle in the southbound lane of Route 309 and was about a half-mile south of Tamaqua when he was tailing another vehicle in the left lane.Moylan said Wentz was in the passing lane, and went into the right lane to pass the vehicle, but the rear tire spun out and he lost control of the motorcycle.He said Wentz was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.West Penn Township police investigated the accident, he said.The county coroner's department will send out the full toxicology as part of the investigation, Moylan said.
