A LOOK BACK

Summit Hill Borough Council voted to continue the state of emergency in the borough until the next regular council meeting in October. The state of emergency had been declared by the borough on Sept. 7 because of concerns of young people congregating in the park and ball field, causing disturbances and other problems.Mayor Richard Caffrey said the feedback from people who live around the park was very positive. He said council should look at an ordinance that provides park hours, and keep the state of emergency in force until that ordinance can be amended. The proclamation ordered the park closed between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.
