The Gathering

The annual The Gathering will be held Oct. 3 at the Trout Run Covered Bridge, Seventh Street in Slatington.Parking is available at the Bob Labold Maintenance Building. There is no parking at the covered bridge or on Seventh Street.There will be food, beverages and crafts all day, starting at 1 p.m.There will also be a 50/50 drawing (tickets available), the Great Slatington Duck Race, Chinese basket auction (drawing at 7 p.m.), Bier Garden, fireworks grand finale, and free music all day.Proceeds from the event will benefit the Slatington Trailhead and Slate Heritage Trail.NLHS Blood DriveThe Miller-Keystone Blood Center needs to collect 450 units of blood a day to meet the needs of the hospitals that they serve.Every two seconds, someone in the United States receives a donation of blood.To help serve our community, Miller Keystone will be coming to Northern Lehigh High School on Oct. 22.The blood drive will be held in the high school gym at 1 Bulldog Lane, Slatington, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Walk-ins are welcomed.Please visit giveapint.org, or call 610-767-9832 with questions.For more information, contact Jon DeFrain at 610-767-9832, ext. 1236, or
