Man admits to drug dealing

A Carbon County man admitted to drug dealing on Tuesday in the county court pleading to possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in one case and delivery in a second case.

Vito Kevin Focht, 51, of Nesquehoning appeared before Judge Joseph J. Matika to enter the pleas.Focht was charged by Nesquehoning police after he sold crystal methamphetamine to a confidential informant. The sale occurred on March 1, 2014, in the area of 23 W. Columbus Ave. On April 25, 2014, police served a search warrant at Focht's residence and found cocaine and other drugs in the home.Under sentencing guidelines Focht faces a prison term at the time of sentencing. However, in a plea agreement with the district attorney's office he is going to apply for placement in the Intermediate Punishment Program - house arrest. Matika warned Focht that he was not a party to the agreement and that he could deny the IPP or sentence Focht to a state prison or run the terms consecutively.Matika said before he decides that he wants to know more about Focht. He ordered the adult probation office to prepare a presentence investigating report. Focht is free on bail.
