One person was injured in a three-vehicle crash at 4:35 p.m. on Monday at the intersection of Route 903 and Behrens Road in Penn Forest Township.
State police at Lehighton said Judith A. Madea, 53, of Jim Thorpe, driving a 2006 Toyota Corolla, was stopped in the northbound lane to make a left turn onto Behrens Road.Brian L. Dubin, 33, of Jim Thorpe, driving a 2011 Ford F350 truck, came behind Dubin and crashed into the rear of Madea's Corolla.The Corolla spun counterclockwise into the southbound lane and came back into the northbound lane.Aric J. Selby, 37, of Albrightsville, was driving a 2014 GMC Acadia southbound and crashed into the side of the Corolla as it spun. The Acadia also spun counterclockwise and came to rest in a grassy area along the west shoulder of 903. The Corolla came to rest along the east shoulder.Madea had to be extricated from her vehicle and was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, by ambulance.Dubin and Selby were not injured. The Corolla and Acadia were towed from the scene. Troopers cited Dubin for following too closely.Assisting troopers at the scene were volunteers from the Penn Forest Fire Company and the Lehighton EMS unit.
