The Carbon-Monroe-Pike Drug and Alcohol Commission will host a recovery awareness walk and reception on Thursday. The walk begins at 9:30 a.m. at the commission’s office at 428 S. Seventh St., Lehighton, and will do a short loop through the borough.
The event is being held in conjunction with National Recovery Month, a movement that promotes the societal benefits of prevention, treatment and recovery for mental and substance use disorders.No registration is required to participate.Information on the services that are provided will be available at the reception following the walk.In addition, the commission’s mock bedroom will be set up for parents and adult community members to view places teens typically hide drugs in their bedrooms and what the products look like that are available to hide items in.For more information, contact the Carbon-Monroe-Pike Drug and Alcohol Commission office at 610-377-5177.
