Tamaqua man sentenced to house arrest for DUI

A Tamaqua man will serve six months of supervision stemming from a charge of driving under the influence.

Jeremy Snyder, 24, was charged on Sept. 24, 2014, by Tamaqua police with driving under the influence, following too closely, driving at an unsafe speed and reckless driving.The charges of following too closely and reckless driving were dropped.Schuylkill County President Judge William Baldwin sentenced him to 15 days of house arrest with electronic surveillance, followed by 45 days of strict supervision, followed by four months of probation.Snyder was also ordered to pay fees and court costs, and to complete Alcohol Highway safety school, surrender his license for 12 months, and perform 10 hours of community service.
