The Carbon County Commissioners voted 2-1 to accept a bid of $32,656 for four cabins to be purchased from Conestoga Log Cabin Inc. in Lebanon.

The cabins will be added to the existing complement of eight that are currently located in the Mauch Chunk Lake Park camping area.Commissioners Wayne Nothstein and Charles Getz voted to make the purchase while Commissioner Tom Gerhard cast a "nay" vote.Gerhard said he was in favor of the purchase of the first eight cabins, but indicated he did not want to see that number increased because the county would be competing with private enterprise for camping customers.
