Tamaqua man charged with stolen gun

A Tamaqua man was taken to the Schuylkill County Prison in Pottsville on Monday afternoon after he was found to be in possession of a stolen shotgun.

Tamaqua Police were dispatched to 71 Bowe St., near the noon hour, after a neighbor called about a man standing on the porch, with a weapon, making threats.At the home, officers found Jesse Michael Lincovich, 33, in a very distraught state of mind, but their was no gun in sight. Lincovich admitted having the shotgun, but said he had hidden it.Officers recovered the weapon from the back porch. They also found an unmarked bottle containing several pills in the man's front pocket.It was determined the weapon, a New England Firearm, single shot, 12-gauge shotgun, was one that had been reported stolen by Lehighton Police.Lincovich was charged with felony counts of possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, as well as misdemeanor counts of receiving stolen property, possession of a controlled substance and misbranding of a controlled substance. He was arraigned before District Judge Stephen Bayer, who set bail at $25,000 straight cash bond.
