A planning session for the Aug. 4 Kidz Karnival in Tamaqua will be held today at 6 p.m. at the Tamaqua Salvation Army on West Broad Street.

Volunteers are needed to help the day of the event, and the planning session will be used to finalize plans and positions.The Karnival will be held from 2-9:30 p.m. as part of Tamaqua's National Night Out celebration, which will include the presentation of the multimedia "Dear Tamaqua ... In a New Light" event.
