Tamaqua man cited for July 4 incident

A Tamaqua man was cited after a July 4 altercation with his mother.

Tamaqua police received a complaint about a man and woman yelling loudly in the 400 block of Hazle Street at 12:17 a.m. On scene, they saw two people on the porch at 408 Hazle St. Both parties were yelling at the time.The male, later identified as Eric Dustin Duda, 26, then went inside. The woman, his mother, apologized, saying her son had just been dropped off by a friend. They were arguing about his drinking.After speaking with the officer, she went inside the home. Suddenly, there was a loud bang and she came back outside, screaming. The officers went inside and found Duda on the floor. Another man was yelling at him, telling him "Don't you ever push your mother."Duda was arrested and transported to the police station. Once he sobered up, he was released and cited for public drunkenness, disorderly conduct and harassment.
